How the BALM Grief Recovery Support Group Experience Impacted Me – A Coach’s Perspective

BALM | October 24, 2019

I went into the grief recovery support group to get tools to help my clients and to be open to the opportunity of getting help with any grieving I had yet to do in my own life. I had no idea what this experience would lead me into and the path it led me down brought to greater peace and tranquility than I had ever imagined possible.

Going deep into my own grieving was eye opening to say the least. What I learned from this course is that loss is not only about losing a person (though I have lost many people in my life). It is also about the many views I had of myself that changed over the years due to the traumatic and challenging events that came my way.

In this course, I was able to objectively examine a lifetime of losses, feel their weight, and let go of the heaviness that I had not even been aware was there.  Eric and Bev’s support and that of the other participants in the group made a real difference in my journey.

I highly recommend this group to anyone who is looking for a deeper level of recovery. You may think you have done all the work you need to do around your struggling or lost loved one. If you are anything like me, you may find that the losses of life go so much deeper than you realized and by being open to the journey, you may find a deeper sense of freedom than you have had before.
