A great believer in gratitude, Mark is very grateful for all the opportunities to be part of the BALM community. Mark has been connected to the BALM for many years. For the last eight years, he had led the weekly Journaling experiences on Tuesday morning.

Mark learned about journaling and a process of journaling from his mentor, Dr Ira Progoff. He called his method The Intensive Journal. Ira’s method was an attempt to give visibility to the different process that take place within each of us. These are: remembering, imaging, relating and spirituality. Mark is most grateful to Ira for all that he learned from him. Tonight’s reflection will center on Ira’s view of spirituality & journaling.

Mark is a life coach and sponsor of a number of people in recovery. He lives in Minneapolis and is married. Besides leading journaling workshops, he also officiates at weddings and umpires softball.

Your Weekly Call List contains links to the Zoom registration for all classes and calls.

Here are some important tips: 

  • Find your email asap so you can make sure you have it readily available.
  • Register for any classes you plan to attend that week. 
  • Log in early to allow time for adjustments or technical issues.  
  • To use your phone or tablet you will have to download the zoom app, “ZOOM Cloud Meetings”, from your app store.  
  • Most classes will have both video and audio access.
  • Audio – Next to your video prompt you will see a microphone icon, which means your audio is already turned on. Simply click to mute or unmute yourself. If it says “enable audio” you will need to click and then you should have your microphone icon.  

Other features:  

  • “Participants” – Click here to pull up the dashboard to see the attendees.  
  • “Raise Your Hand” – this feature is also in your dashboard.
  • “Chat Box” – Also in your dashboard or “chat” on your lower tool bar.

If you have trouble getting on a call after it has started, please email support@familyrecoveryresources.com  and type “CAN’T GET ON CALL” in the subject line. We will respond to you immediately.
